Five Eco Homes for Sale in Somerset

Searching for that elusive Eco-home!

We frequently get enquiries from people looking to purchase a more environmentally friendly home and often in the South West. Unfortunately there are only a few small developers currently building homes to high sustainable standards in the UK. HHP was therefore very pleased to hear about a new attractive & innovative sustainable development in Somerset built by SW Eco-Homes. The Director of SW Eco-Homes, Charles Couzens, has been known to HHP for some time. Charles has been heavily involved in promoting sustainable development for many years and is also currently a Director of the 'Somerset Trust for Sustainable Development'.

Please see details below about this rare opportunity to purchase an environmentally friendly home. If you would like further information, please do not contact HHP direct but use the contact details at the bottom of the page. However we would be interested to know if you look seriously at purchasing one of the homes and what you think of them. You may also wish to mention to SW Eco-Homes that you were made aware of the homes from HHP.

Five eco-homes in the the heart of the Somerset Levels are available to move into in September.  They have been built to the highest sustainable building standards, super-insulated and energy efficient, to BRE Eco-Homes "excellent" standard.  They are part of a 12-dwelling development  (7 are already sold) at Great Bow Yard in Langport and look out over the River Parrett.  Next door is a listed building which will be home to a craft gallery, community space and cafe.  Langport is a busy market town with shops, school and pubs all with in easy walking distance and Great Bow Yard backs onto the town common grazed by cattle and typical of the wildlife rich pastureland of the Somerset Levels.

The remaining 3 and 4 bed houses start at £259,000 for a live work townhouse with garage, ground floor office/ third bedroom and rear courtyard garden. First floor with bathroom and two bedrooms with a balcony facing west, second floor is open plan sitting room, kitchen and dining room with second floor balcony.

If you are interested and want to find out more contact SW Eco-Homes at Old Town Hall, Langport, Somerset e-mail admin@sustainablehousing.org.uk or check out our website at www.swecohomes.co.uk
