HHP
homes remain air-tight
The
homes at HHP have recently been the subject of a survey of highly energy
efficient homes in preparation for the Government recommendations on
airtightness of buildings as part of the Building Regulations review.
The pressurisation test
results show that the mean air permeability of the dwellings at
Hockerton (excluding the conservatory) lie between 0.95 and 1.23 m3/h/m2.
This is considerably lower than the UK mean of 11.48 m3/h/m2,
and the maximum specified level of 10 m3/h/m2 that
is contained within the Approved Document Part L1 (ODPM, 2001).
