We are currently involved on a number of new housing/sustainable development projects, but would be happy to consider new proposals wherever we feel we can add value. Main subject areas include eco-construction, water and renewable energy systems.

We are currently working on a specific house design that encompasses environmentally friendly design – in particular low-energy design, and affordability. The design was recently incorporated into a planning application for a local development (see Fiskerton). This could be overlaid in a wide range of settings, e.g. urban and rural.

More specific areas for which advice can be provided: -

• Calculation of required thermal mass for specific house designs
• Calculation of heat losses and gains
• Calculation of energy requirements
• Advice on viable renewable energy systems
• Calculation of different aspects of thermal performance
• Adaptation of plans, layouts for maximum performance
• Modification to plans and spec. to reduce build costs
• Provision of training / advice on site to foreman/supervisors on correct use of techniques
• Advice on materials to ensure target performance
• Liaison point for specific suppliers to achieve maximum discounts
• Sourcing of rainwater collection / recycling systems
• Introduction to other relevant contacts (suppliers, environmental organizations, etc.)
• Introduce potential purchasers
• Assist in marketing PR by use of extensive media contacts and marketing experience
• Advice on flora and fauna requirements, organics and permaculture.
• Advice on planning permission
